nc weekend

just got back from kris's wedding. it was so, so lovely. the weather was perfect, the people were happy, and my hair was in a fancy up-do that i never could've done in a million years. the best part though, the very best part, was how simple the whole deal was. the ceremony itself had no excess baggage, no interruptions for unnecessary singing, no superfluous words. it was beautifully succint and every second meant something. so, i'm super happy to have been a part of it, even though i'm practically 99% sure that i looked pregnant in my dress, despite the fact that i am definitely NOT pregnant. maybe my fancy up-do balanced all that out. i bet it did, because it was a magical hair-do. anyway, here's to my friends, and their marriage, because my favorite thing about them is how they make each other better at being themselves.

fyi: tomorrow starts the physical fitness phase of my summer. i have strenuous plans, but i'm actually really looking forward to it. it's time.

today i watched the food network special that followed paula deen in europe (i dvr-ed it while i was gone) and i cried, because she was crying, because she was so overwhelmed with being in the europe and all, because she'd never been. and i think it's ok if i cry when she cries, because she's my favorite.
