spinneroo

I've been taking spinning classes at the gym. Now, when I say "classes," what I mean is 2. I've been twice. I'm not sure about going back. There are several problems. First of all, the seat...terribly uncomfortable. Second of all, the instructor, Carl, plays the music really loud so I can't hear his instructions and I just have to watch him and see what he's doing. Which, wouldn't be a huge problem if I could see him every second of the class. But, sometimes, I have to look down, and darn it if he doesn't start doing something different the minute I drop my head. So then I have to do it in a hurry, and I get flustered and angry. It is tricky. Now, going back to the music...it's...interesting. It's like these crazy jazzed up remixes of songs by the likes of Annie Lennox. There is this one song, this odd celtic/african/tribal/chant/riverdance medley, that we are supposed to "race" to. I don't pedal as hard as Carl does, and I never will. So I lose every time, and then I get even more angry and flustered. Spinning is supposed to be good for your butt and legs, so I'll no doubt go again and again and again...to this class which is a lot like Simon Says, only on crack, and on a bike.
